Introduction

ACMA Patient Group is a membership patient support group administered by American Chinese Medicine Association (ACMA) and the ACMA Patient Association.

This group is a part of the ACMA Patient Association because many ACMA patients are not in the group.  Some of them do not have access to computer or internet.  Some of them are too busy to be overloaded by group discussion messages.

Membership

All ACMA patients are qualified to be a group member.  There is no membership fee for ACMA patients to join this group.

ACMA will not censor or edit group messages.  Everyone is solely responsible for the message he/she sends to the group.

To protect your privacy, please do not send your messages to the entire group if your messages contain your personal and private information.  Please go to the Tips for Privacy to get more information on how to protect your privacy.

Tips for Privacy

ACMA Patient Group employs Yahoo Group settings.  In Yahoo Group settings, when a group member reply to a group message, the "Reply" message may go to the entire group rather than the sender alone.  Following is a method to check and make sure whether your "Reply" message will be directed to the entire group or not:

(1) If the email address after "To:" is

  ACMAPatientGroup@yahoogroups.com , your message will be distributed to the entire group;

(2) If the email address after "To:" is an individual email address, your message will be directed to the individual only.

How to Reply a Group Email

(1) If you click "Reply" (not "Reply All") to a group message, your message will be sent to entire group.

(2) If you do not want to send a message to the entire group, please do not click "Reply" to group messages. You may create (initiate) a new email rather than clicking "Reply" to avoid sending message to the entire group.

For more information on this issue, please go to Tips for Privacy.

Exit Policy -- How to Leave the Group

The ACMA Patient Group adopts the Yahoo Group format.  Yahoo Group is a forum-like internet group designed for specialized group discussions.  Group members related to the discussions find it very useful.

However, during group discussions, the message traffic could be very high, which may not suit for every group members.  If you do not want to be overloaded by the high traffic group discussion messages, please leave the group by following the steps below:

(1) Initial a new email;

(2) Put the following email address after the "To:" in your email: info@americanchinesemedicineassociation.org

(3) Put "Unsubscribe" in the "Subject:" section of your email.

No reason or explanation is needed.  You will be removed from the group as soon as your request has been processed.
