To Patients

Dear patients/patient relatives:

Both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died unnecessarily.  The tragedy is that they are not alone.  Each year, hundreds and thousands of people in U.S. died of ineffective or incorrect treatments unnecessarily.

Many deaths in medicine can be avoided.  Those deaths happened because the treatments they received were ineffective or incorrect.  If those patients had received effective and correct treatments, they would not have died.

The ultimate rule in medicine is: It's not what disease you have that counts.  it's the treatment you receive that counts.  This is because for the same patient, receiving effective and correct treatment can save his/her life.  But receiving an ineffective or incorrect treatment can lead to unnecessary death.  This rule has been proved many times at ACMA.

In sum, after being diagnosed with a disease, a patient should find and get access to the best treatment first.  Finding the best treatment is equal to finding a new life.  This should be the top priority task for all patients.
